Write On Vancouver 2010 is Over

What a conference! Laura Resnick, Martin Biro of Kensington, Johanna Raisanen of Harlequin, Nancy Warren, and so many wonderful and talented authors in one room. And, of course, my successful pitch to Martin really topped things off.
If you love story and love screenwriting then you will want to attend next years WOV. Hollywoood Story and Script Consultant, Michael Hauge will be the guest of honor, and there will be editors and wonderful work shops, so plan now to attend in May 2011.
Details of the conference will be available on the Greater Vancouver Chapter of the Romance Writers of America in the fall/winter of 2010.

Welcome to my World!

Hi and welcome to my blog. This is a brand new experience for me. Isn’t technology wonderful! I hope you’ll enjoy my website and that you’ll find the information on it helpful in some way. This is my first attempt at blogging, I’ll try and keep up.
For those of you who are completely unfamiliar with me, I live in beautiful British Columbia, Canada with my wife, Rita, and my son, Glenn who just graduated from University. I have an older son, Neil who doesn’t live at home. Rita is an artist and a writer, Glenn is an actor, and Neil is a poet. We are an artistic family. Rita and I have been heavily involved in our local chapter of the Romance Writers of America and I am past President of the chapter.
We have two dogs, Simon, a ten year old Cairn Terrier and Charlie, a three year old Golden Retriever. They are wonderful companions and are an important part of our family. As well as writing, I enjoy playing golf and am actively involved in our church. I have a very busy life, but a great one. Being published in book length this year is really going to top off my sundae!
I plan on using this blog to update my friends, family and followers about things that are going on in my life as well as to share my views on various aspects of the ever evolving publishing business. While these will be mostly my opinion, I have a large network of professionals that I regularly discuss a wide range publishing topics with so I will share some of this information for the new writers out there seeking “how to” solutions to common issues. My view is if you want to be a professional writer you have to keep learning every day. I hope that by sharing what I learn that I’ll be able to help other aspiring writers in some small way.
